Flash Cookies- Privacy Concerns

Lawsuits are being filed against some companies utilizing flash cookies and storing them on personal computers without the knowledge of web surfers. The flash cookies are stored in separate locations unlike html cookies that can be controlled and deleted by users in browser settings, according to a NY Times report on flash cookies.

PC Virus Doctors' Computer Support always clean cookies from users machines during malware removal and now will check to make sure all flash cookies are removed to the best of our ability. Many times their are several gigabytes of tracking cookies deleted that can eventually slow computers due to the shear number of cookies which can be tens of thousands.

Some media companies are tracking users across multiple websites and the technology also is involved in mobile media where they track web surfers on their cellphones.

PC Virus Doctors' Computer Repair are testing a flash cookie remover that can be added on to CCleaner, called Click & Clean from HotCleaner.com and listed below if readers would like to try it. There are other versions available also for Chrome browsers and Firefox browsers that may be installed as add-ons.
