Dell Considering Android on a NetBook?

Rumor has it (informationweek.com) that Dell may be considering using Android, a Google platform that supports multimedia on its Netbooks, the mini laptop that has the ability to access the internet minus large drives and huge RAM loads to support a standalone Small Office Home Office (SOHO) venture for communications but possibly not capable of running many third party applications such as Microsoft products, many security applications normally available and other third party communication devices, such as Skype, IM and other instant message apps.

The possibility of a smaller digital unit smaller than a laptop is very desirable considering weight, size and the amount of battery that would be needed to charge the mini-laptop.

The negatives of Dell Android Netbooks could be:
  1. battery drain time from normal to heavy use,
  2. amount of drive space available for applications and data storage,
  3. which applications are compatible with the hardware and software?,
  4. how much RAM is available and upgradeable?
  5. how repairable is the netbook?
  6. how upgradeable is this mini-laptop/internetbook?
