Registry Repair Company Targeted by Microsoft

Microsoft has recently pursued a registry cleaner/repair company that gives false messages through popups that warn computer users that it needs a critical repair that the "scareware" will correct. The alarm is false according to Microsoft in a InformationWeek article [http://www.informationweek.com/news/security/vulnerabilities/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=210604522]. The state of Washington has joined Microsoft who have filed several claims against the company claiming the software is a scare tactic and is in no way legitimate nor are the vulnerability claims the "scareware" warns against.

PCVDs Dallas computer repair has seen many of the false registry cleaners showing up in machines coming in to the repair shop for malware removal.
