Another rogue Microsoft program has emerged called "Windows Recovery". The fake program feigns as a savior for damaged systems yet it hogs system resources and will not stop scanning for "problems" until it has finished, at times. The program will stop updates on malware removers, will prevent new malware removers from being installed and will not let current anti-malware programs to execute.

The program surreptiousely installed on a customers computer without giving a "warning" but silently installed during an "adobe update", mostly likely a hacked legitimate website or a website intended for distributing malware by luring web surfers to it by optimized content in order to attract particular users to high profile subjects or topics.

Web users must be very careful before surfing to any website that offers tempting offers (too good to be true) or high profile tempestuous pictures and graphics/media.

Avoid virus removals by looking at the domain address of links by hovering over them and looking in the lower left of the browser which shows the address in the beige lower bar of Windows Internet Explorer.

Antivirus.net- Rogue Antivirus

PC Virus Doctors' Computer Repair has ventured across another rogue antivirus called Antivirus.net on a laptop repair. This fake antivirus is stealthy and it appears it entered the system via a Java exploit. One clue is that Java reports that updates are available, however, Java will not update nor will Windows 7 allow Java to be uninstalled.

Another characteristic of Antivirus.net is that Internet Explorer (IE) would not connect to the internet and only some antimalware programs would install while others would not install. Also Kaspersky would not uninstall even with Kaspersky's removal tool.

Disk checks can sometimes get users out of jams and helps to avoid PC repairs. Sometimes the system files can get corrupted and not allow some of the functions like the above problems.

Trojan Hiloti

Trojan:Win32/Hiloti.gen!A has showed up on a computer repair and this is one of those that is embedded within the registry and continues to rename itself upon each bootup and apparently placing the new registry entry into other parts of the registry.

This computer problem also shows a Java scripts exploit that has been quarantined. Microsoft reports the  Hiloti trojan as "severe".
